Deborah R. Gerhardt "The Rules of Attribution"

After reading the essay "The Rules of Attribution" by Gerhardt, I believe that some of the things she says in her essay I can argee with and some things I would have to disagree. The one big thing that stuck out in the essay to me that I did not agree with is when she explained how in college basketball the rules are taught more than once. I would have to say that this is the same for students being taught about plagiarism. From personal expericence I can honestly say that throughout my life I have been taught the many things that I need to know about plagiarism and how to avoid it. As for why people plagiarize I do not believe that the majority of the people that do plagiarize do it on purpose.
